Zestiny Farm – Certified Organic Produce with their Worm Mod

Anything that is not saleable or left over from markets is simply fed to the worms, and they let the magic happen. They harvest their worm castings once a fortnight and foliar spray their crops with the tea made from the castings.

Farm Overview
Zestiny Farm is a certified organic, regenerative family farm located in Central Mangrove on the NSW Central Coast hinterland. The 50-acre property features a 3,000-tree lemon orchard, seasonal vegetable production, and fruit orchards. As regenerative certified organic farmers, the team focuses on closing nutrient loops and minimising waste, delivering fresh produce boxes directly to customers across Sydney, Newcastle, the Central Coast, Wollongong, and the Blue Mountains.

Why Martin Camilleri and the Team Decided to Try Worm Brew / Worm Mod
Martin Camilleri, Farm Operations Manager at Zestiny Farm, explains that they initially set up a homemade worm farm to trial the benefits of worm castings (made into tea) and the leachate. After 12 months, they were amazed with the results on their vegetable crops. This led them to purchase a Worm Mod Worm Farm from Worms Downunder. Since using the Worm Mod, they have experienced better production, and really appreciate the easy design of the system. The whole setup fits seamlessly into their business as regenerative, certified organic farmers.

Application Method and Observed Changes
The team at Zestiny Farm don’t waste a single leaf of produce. Anything that is not saleable or left over from markets is simply fed to the worms, and they let the magic happen. They harvest their worm castings once a fortnight and foliar spray their crops with the tea made from the castings and leachate.

Recommendation
Martin is happy to share his positive experience: the results on crop production speak for themselves, and the Worm Mod has proven to be a practical, effective addition to their regenerative practices. They are looking to add an additional two units in the coming months.
